Will Changing my Cheeks or Chin make that much of a difference??
Sometimes the smallest change can have a profound effect on one’s appearance. Balance and symmetry are the hallmarks of beauty and a skilled plastic surgeon understands this. Dr. Bryan Correa is highly trained in the proportional relationships between the cheek, chin, nose, and jawline and can make that small adjustment that will subtly change your facial ratio.
Do I need a Surgical or Nonsurgical Augmentation?
Chin and cheek augmentation can be done surgically, through the use of implants or modification of the jaw bone, or nonsurgically with fillers that are injected into the target areas. It all depends on your goals and which procedure will realistically achieve the goal you set with Dr. Correa in the pre-treatment consultation.
Surgery or Fillers?
The benefit of surgery is that the results are *long=lasting and can have dramatic effects, although there is more recovery time needed. Infections are a risk with any surgery and of particular concern when prosthetic implants are used although the chance of infection is very low and the incisions are very small. There will be swelling and bruising as part of the normal healing process but overall the results are long-lasting and quite effective at addressing the problem.
In the case of the chin the decision to use an implant vs altering the jaw bone itself depends upon several factors unique to each patient’s anatomy. For example, patients with significant asymmetry or particularly short chins may be better candidates for jaw bone surgery.

Dermal Fillers
For those who are experiencing mild sagging and early signs of aging, fillers can postpone the need for the more long-lasting surgical solution. For some patients who cannot undergo anesthesia for medical reasons, fillers may be the safest solution to problems such as hollow cheeks, sagging jaw line and weak chin.
Considering Facial Implants?
Facial implants for the chin or jawline are a good option to increase the protrusion of an otherwise weak chin. This will also improve the look of your jawline and can define the contours of the neck.
Patients who are undergoing rhinoplasty (nose restructuring) often benefit from having a chin implant to balance the lower third of the face. If there is a congenital deformity or damage from injury, implants can restructure the area and give a more symmetrical look.
If your cheeks have lost definition and fullness due to either age or unfavorable anatomy, cheek implants can restore the better definition and/or more youthful fullness you are seeking. Defined cheekbones are considered very desirable and will further improve the appearance of the face by lifting the skin and smoothing out wrinkles. You can finally have those sexy supermodel cheeks—and the result will last!
Dr. Correa can help you decide which method will best serve your needs based on your overall health and your desires. Facial fillers offer relatively little risk with minimal recovery time, whereas the more dramatic effects seen with implants or jaw surgery have a greater period of recovery—but also a more powerful effect. The decision as to what is best for you will be easier after your initial consultation with Dr. Correa as you will have a clear understanding of the method that is right for you.

Dr. Correa’s Philosophy on Chin & Cheek Augmentation
“Along with rhinoplasty, facial augmentation can have a dramatic effect on the appearance of your face. In this case, as in rhinoplasty, the consultation is the single-most important part of the process as it is important to create specific goals. With clear goals and a surgeon with attention to detail, powerful but subtle results can be obtained.”
Dr. Correa has studied under some of the best plastic surgeons in the country and has developed a trained eye in matters of facial proportions and structure. This is a vital skill which, combined with his artist’s eye has transformed many happy patients into the image they expected to see when they look in the mirror.
