DIFFERENT IN APPEARANCE?

There are slight differences in breast size and position on every woman. These are not noticeable and do not cause emotional stress. For women who have mismatched breasts, the emotional stress can be severe.

For a number of women, the differences begin to be seen during puberty where one breast develops at a different rate or stops completely. For others, breast asymmetry can occur after pregnancy or as a result of hormonal changes. Another cause is trauma to the chest or in some cases, spinal diseases such as scoliosis.

WHAT IS BREAST ASYMMETRY CORRECTION?

The definition of breast asymmetry is the condition of having a distinct difference in the breasts. Breast asymmetry also makes it difficult to wear a swimsuit, evening wear or halter tops.

Correcting the problem, whether it is volume, position or a combination of both opens up a whole new world of shopping possibilities which then allow for participation in activities which were formerly avoided.

Breast asymmetry correction is a breast augmentation with a twist; it is usually sparked by a need to correct the differences, but the final result is more than correction. It rejuvenates the breast profile by lifting the breast, and increasing or decreasing volume as needed to balance overall appearance.

CONSIDERING BREAST ASYMMETRY CORRECTION?

Cosmetic surgery is an elective procedure and patients who are considering a surgical correction should first and foremost be in good health. Good candidates would not have any medical conditions that could impair healing or cause complications while under anesthesia. Some of these conditions are diabetes, high blood pressure, autoimmune diseases, and certain blood disorders.

Candidates should also not smoke, or if they do, they should be willing to give it up for the recommended period which is usually 4 weeks before and after surgery. Dr. Correa understands this is hard for some patients, however, there can be serious complications in healing due to the fact that nicotine impairs circulation on a microscopic level which can result in the need for revision surgery.

WHAT IS INVOLVED IN BREAST ASYMMETRY CORRECTION?

Breast asymmetry addresses several issues and each patient has one or more of these problems. The solution involves a holistic approach to the entire torso. Dr. Correa develops the surgical plan after a thorough examination and after hearing what the patient’s goals are for the surgery. The issues involved with Breast Asymmetry includes:

Breast Size and Volume

Breasts Position

in relation to each other and the torso

Areola Size and Position

Deciding on the Goal

First of all, if a patient is happy with one breast, it can be used as the goal for the other breast. That can mean placing a breast implant or performing a breast reduction.

Dr. Correa has found that the cosmetic outcome is usually better if both breasts receive augmentation to ensure consistency in lift and in how the breasts will age over time. For example, in a patient who wants to increase the size of one breast, having implants of different sizes placed in both breasts will create breasts that feel, move and age at the same rate.

Often an implant is performed with a lift, which is called augmentation with lift. Treating one breast with a lift, which tightens underlying muscles, and leaving the other untreated could result in the untreated breast eventually falling lower.

If the breasts are positioned badly but are acceptable in terms of size and shape, a breast lift can be done on both to position them evenly. If there is an issue with size or position of the areola, this can be corrected during the reduction with lift or as a separate surgery if that is the only issue.

BREAST AUGMENTATION

Before choosing Dr Correa, I went to see a very well known PS that spent no more than 5 minutes with me during my first appointment. That was not a good experience, as I felt just like a number and I’m glad I left that place quickly. Then, decided to make an appointment with Dr Correa. (Best decision EVER!)

During the appointment I was actually surprised about how dr Correa took his time to go over all my questions, what my goal was and genuinely listened my concern. I was very hesitant to do surgery because of my petit frame. I relied upon Dr. Correa to give me his honest opinion on what would look the best/most natural with my body type and I am so happy that I trusted him and went with his suggestion. He is an expert on proportion and natural appearance!

My breasts look so natural and so proportional to my body. He is an artist! Also, I was very impressed with his post-op care. He called to check how I was doing and quickly texted me back anytime I had any questions or concerns. His staff was very professional and always making me feel welcome.

I met Dr Correa for a consultation and I knew he was going to be my guy! He is very personable, funny, knowledgeable and professional. His staff is very sweet and friendly, I always felt very welcomed. When Dr Correa did my surgery, he called me that night to make sure I was okay. He also checked on me a couple of times before my follow up appointments. He is very caring for his patients and he listened to my concerns. I am very happy with my results and I would highly recommend my family and friends to see him. His office is very clean, wait time is very minimal and I absolutely love him! Dr. Correa is absolutely amazing! It hasn’t been the easiest recovery but he and his staff have been very helpful and attentive. He has called several times to check on me and Gabrielle is very sweet and helpful – even when I have called to ask the same questions probably more than once lol – top notch surgeon and staff , he is definitely the best and I am very happy that I chose to go with him.

BREAST AUGMENTATION

What an amazing physician! Dr. Correa and his office staff treat you like a family member from day one. Everything from the consult, surgery day, to post op was professional and he really went out of his way to make me feel at home. I never once felt like I was being “rushed along”, or felt like I was just another paycheck. This physician and his staff go the extra mile. The day of my surgery, he was fifteen minutes early! Fifteen minutes people! I work at a hospital and i can tell you no surgeries ever run on time, let alone early. I also appreciate the fact that he performs all surgeries at an actual hospital, not a outpatient surgical center. Dr. Correa even called me from his personal phone later in the evening after my surgery to check on me. His office coordinator, Gabrielle, and his nurse, are remarkable girls! They accommodate every rescheduled appointment and are very warm and caring. You are doing yourself an absolute disservice if you do not allow yourself to be sculpted by Dr. Correa! I promise you will not regret it!
